Penn & Teller – Fool Us is a competition for magic TV show that features magicians who perform tricks before American comedian-magician duo Penn & Teller. The initial 2 seasons featured masterful host Jonathan Ross, and the 4th season from that point on by the female host Alyson.

Each episode starts off by introducing the main purpose of the show. Penn & Teller come out and take their seats towards center stage, and the hopeful performers perform their magic before them, in front of a live studio audience. Following each performance, Penn & Teller privately discuss the show while the host questions the magicians. Penn & Teller then reveal if they know the method used to perform the trick, in a cryptic manner, usually by using words or by recording the technique and presenting it privately to the magicians for confirmation, so as to avoid committing public disclosure of the methods behind the trick.
