If you need a new Weber rotisserie motor then there are two great options; Weber and OneGrill. I have tested both rotisserie motors head to head and like them both. The one I am using on a regular basis is the OneGrill motor.
Here is how the two Weber rotisserie motors compare.
The Weber product has a maximum weight limit of 20 pounds while the OneGrill is rated for 25 pounds.
Both units are made in Taiwan.
The Weber rotisserie motor has a plastic housing. The OneGrill rotisserie motor has a thin metal chrome housing.
Both rotisserie motors easily fit the Weber Spirit and Weber Genesis grills. They also fit on the Weber kettle rotisserie ring. I do not know if they fit on a Weber Summit grill since I don’t have one of those bad boys to play with 🙂
The real difference between these two motors is the power source. You plug the Weber rotisserie motor into an electrical outlet while the OneGrill rotisserie motor runs off of two D batteries.
I was concerned that the battery operated OneGrill motor would not be powerful enough. This is NOT the case. I have never had an issue with the OneGrill motor struggling even when put under some heavy loads.
The only problem I had with the OneGrill rotisserie motor is that it makes a little noise. Fortunately I do not need absolute silence while grilling so the motor noise is not an issue.
The reason I use the OneGrill motor all of the time now is that I HATE having to run an extension cord across my deck to plug in the Weber motor. The orange extension cord looks ugly, is a tripping hazard and took up space on my porch when I wasn’t using it. Extension cords suck.
